Common questions
What is the difference between the V Series and VK Series?
The V Series is solar-powered — built-in photovoltaic panels charge a battery that powers the motor, LED lights, and fan with no external wiring. The VK Series is mains electric — connected to your home's electrical supply for consistent performance regardless of sunlight conditions. Both offer identical louver control (0–120°) and structural performance.
How do I choose the right size pergola for my patio?
Measure your available space and select a pergola that fits comfortably within it. The 10' Series is ideal for compact terraces, balconies, and small gardens. The 13' Series offers greater coverage for larger patios, poolside areas, and hospitality venues. Dual-cell configurations (20'+ spans) connect two standard units for expansive coverage. For a 12×14 ft patio, the 10'×14' or 13'×14' models provide full coverage with adequate clearance.
Can I install the pergola myself?
Yes. The AT Louvre is designed for DIY assembly with a 3-person team over 3–5 hours. All components are pre-drilled and pre-cut. A detailed installation guide and video are included. Professional installation is also available if preferred.
What surfaces are suitable for pergola installation?
A concrete slab or wooden deck with anchor bolts is recommended for secure fastening. Patio pavers are not recommended as they can shift over time. Both freestanding and wall-mounted (lean-to) configurations are supported.
Can you install a pergola on pavers?
We do not recommend installing on patio pavers alone, as they can shift over time and compromise structural stability. For paver surfaces, pour a concrete footing at each post location, or install on a concrete slab or wooden deck with anchor bolts for secure fastening.
Do I need a permit for a pergola?
Permit requirements vary by municipality. In most regions, freestanding pergolas under 3 metres in height do not require a permit, but wall-mounted structures or those exceeding local height limits may. We recommend checking with your local building authority before installation.
How long does an aluminium pergola last?
With proper installation and minimal maintenance, an Atlas aluminium pergola will last 25+ years. The powder-coated 6063-T5 aluminium frame resists corrosion, fading, and UV degradation. Motors are rated for 50,000+ cycles, and the solar battery typically lasts 5–7 years before replacement.
Pergola vs gazebo: which is better?
A pergola offers adjustable shade and ventilation through rotating louvers, making it ideal for climates with variable sun and rain. A gazebo has a fixed roof and enclosed sides, providing permanent shelter but less flexibility. For tropical and coastal climates where you want sun control and airflow, a louvered pergola is the superior choice.
Can a pergola be attached to a house?
Yes. The AT Louvre supports wall-mounted (lean-to) configurations that attach directly to an existing building, extending terraces, courtyards, and poolside lounges. Freestanding pavilions are also available for gardens and open spaces.
Are custom sizes available?
Beyond our standard range, we offer full customisation services. Contact our team with your specific dimensions for a tailored solution.
What is included in the standard package?
Every AT Louvre includes: powder-coated aluminium frame, motorised louver roof, integrated LED lighting, ceiling fan, remote controller, anchor bolts, and detailed installation instructions. Privacy screens, walls, and glass doors are available as optional add-ons.

The AT Louvre is available in White and Black powder-coated finishes. Both colours are priced identically and use the same marine-grade Qualicoat-standard coating for 25+ year durability.
